I want it. I know that you know that you want it. So why not give this a chance? They better have duplicates of the Icarus I costumes! We want to see more Pinbacker... before his transformation that is.

Oh yes!!!! It'd be great!!! I can hear it now Our sun is dying. Mankind faces extinction. Sixteen months ago, I, Captain Pinbacker, and a crew of 7 (or is it 6?) left Earth frozen in a solar winter. Our mission: reignite the sun before it's too late... Welcome to Icarus. Can the prequel add a bit for Icarus II crew? Like when they're in training (we can find out who's the father ...)

My thought exactly. Especially about the Icarus II training and the identity of the father bit.

Wow...to finally find out the identity of the father...that would be so awesome. I'd also be curious to see what Harvey and Searle were like pre-mission - it would be interesting to meet Harvey's wife, I think.

Odd: I had a few pages of an Icarus I story underway... but it was more of a Whitbacker thing. That young pup Capa (he would've been all of seventeen or eighteen when the first mission was being prepped) being upset over not being chosen, all that stuff. And fatherhood-- well, I think we all know where I stand on the Cassie business ("some schmuck, never knew who exactly" is the phrase that comes most readily to mind-- followed closely by "If you're not gonna follow up, Garland, then leave it out. It's a cruel character twist at best."). Was thinking of it as pretty much an all-Icarus I tale-- with plenty of pre-toasted Pinbacker....
Mmmmm... I mean, hmmm....

I would love to see how/why Pinbacker went crazy! And with a prequel, we'd have the best of both worlds: one story about an outside psycho, and one story about an inside psycho!

Danny Boyle said that a director never returns to space or something like this. And i can't imagine a Sunshine prequel without Danny Boyle...

No they didn't! Danny Boyle was the Excecutive Producer for 28WL. This could hold true for the Sunshine prequel as well should there be one.
