No they didn't! Danny Boyle was the Excecutive Producer for 28WL. This could hold true for the Sunshine prequel as well should there be one. Danny only filmed one part in a day and did an interview. Not much to talk about there...  |

Prequels or sequels were made if the first movie was successfull. Of course, Sunhine is a great movie, but it wasn't a suprise-(financial) success like Pirates of the Carribean I for example. Probably the producer thinks another Sunshine movie wouldn't be very economic.

I KNOW it has crossed through Alex and Danny's mind.. Sunshine did well in the box office, and by making a better sequel (prequel  ) people who haven't watched the film will rent it on DVD.. thus, making Danny's Sunshine 2 budget larger *o* , also, they'll be so shocked by how good this movie is they WILL go to the theater and watch the sequel : D And.. crazy Sunshine fans like us would go and see it like 7 times O.O making the box office total like $9999999,999,999 leaving Danny with A LOT of money and leaving us happy to see why did Pinball go insane : ) And finding out who was the father.. =x That would be nice.. |

I don't really think there'll be a prequel, i mean, this is suppose to be an action sci-fiction movie right? so if you have the next film which was meant to take place before the space part, then it would go totally off? I mean the character's lives have barely anything to do with the movie? I fear there won't be a prequel, otherwise it would be a really really really really big flop , well unless i suggest, maybe when Capa's Sister looks at the sun then it goes bright then suddenly it dims, then some problem comes out , or same damn alien comes or whatever, it will make it a sequel and keep the sci fiction status in tact? hope the producers think it over though  |

Really Sunshine is a great movie...
Danny Boyle made this movie because of he has always wanted to make a movie musical. Finds it a big challenge, and he’s up for it.
In fact, he “loves music more than anything,” adding that if he had that type of talent, he’d do that over making films.

I was looking for a little help. I was doing searches online and I could not find a movie similar to sunshine. There is a movie exactly like this one where they need to jump start the sun. It’s a 80s movie I believe and there is a space ship that fly’s to the sun and jump starts it. In fact I think that it’s the original prequel to this movie sunshine. I have seen it before a long time ago. At the end of the movie a women commits suicide manually drives the spaceship/bomb into the sun because she cannot rely on the automatic controls. I would really like to watch it again and see if sunshine is a rip off of that one which I have a sneaking suspicion it is. Can anyone remember the name?
