Favorite Scenes

In roughly this order...

1) Capa triggering the bomb and basking in the reborn sun.
2) Kaneda's death.
3) Capa meets Pinbacker(sp?).

Those are the scenes that immediately come to mind. Other than that, I love any scene with the sun in it... meaning all those times Searle is staring at the sun, and the passing of Mercury. Also, the "apology" scene. I love how distortion of spacetime is depicted when they're falling into the sun, too. I love all of it!

- The scene right before Mace, Capa and Harvey are blown out of the airlock I love the way Chris says "repressurize"
- The beginning monologue and the scene where we first see Searle viewing the sun

Best scene the end i say oh btw just remebered when the flashlight flased in front of my eyes at the time they went in the abandon images for a frame of a second i saw some people's images and i gota say that was kinda disturbing and anoying and weird

I can't think, the whole movie is top draw. However, for me I think Kaneda's death sequence is pretty cool, certainly one of the finest in movie history. Can any one of us say they wouldn't like to go that way? I friggin would. I love the way it is done: instead of him screaming and trying to escape the flames, he stops and stares in awe, ready to embrace death. Not merely because he simply can't escape the flames, but also because perhaps he doesn't WANT to. And not because he's suicidal, but because he just wants to feel it, to embrace it, to become one with it, out of simple human curiosity and wonder. And to top it off, Searle asks him "What can you see!?", which is just an extraordinary thing to ask when you're seeing a colleague about to die like that. That's why I like Sunshine, it takes so many movie cliches and turns them upside-down. The music at this point, is needless to say, sublime, and just adds so much to the scene.

Yea it is, but according to Danny Boyle in the commentary they were supposed to be subliminal images, we shouldn't actually see them or register them in our minds at the time. But because of some technical reason, they didn't quite turn out like that.

When Mace says "Repressurize" is one of my favourite scenes in any movie. Also Mace & Capa fighting after finding Trey, and when Capa jumps through space to the payload. There's too many scenes to choose from!

When mace is traing to fix the mainframe, and then Icarus lites up agin.
And the conversation whit Capa.

First the scene where the crew looks at Mercury, thats so beautiful.
And second; Capa's message, while hearing that beautiful music in the background.

And last, I just LOVE the last minutes with Capa inside his payload when he is gonna detonate it inside the Sun. His smile of sucess infront of the sun and the music in the bakground brings me tears often when I watch those scenes. Acting on its top.
