It was originally March 16th until the Fox Searchlight US branch decided it'd rather promote better, more interesting movies for the summer...like AVP2.  No, I don't really know why, that's just speculation. But it's really not March 16th anymore. >.< |

The very, very first release date mentioned was March 2007.
Then Searchlight decided they wanted it to be October 2006.
Of course, there wasn't really any way the film could have been finished by then, so they put it back to March 2007.
Then the UK changed it to the 6th of April (various other films coming out here that weekend).
Everywhere else decided to release *after* the UK.
The US then flaked out on everyone.

Yeah, that's what I explained to everyone. How I was okay with it being pushed back to March since that was the original, but then even FURTHER and it just wasn't cool at all and now I'm all bitter.
What about Canada, Gia? Is the film opening in April in Canada, too, then?

Quite possibly. If I were you I'd be prepared for that, too. People tend to get a little twitchy when you tell them you're going across the ocean to see a film.
