It's NOT December! OK. I'll tell you. It's the 14th of September. There. I said it... May I update Sunshine Fan Online with this new info and credit the Blog? If not, it's fine! Also, I am assuming this new U.S. release date goes hand in hand with Canada(?)

Canada and the US open at the same time. Say 'early Fall' just to be on the safe side... you never know if they're going to change it again, so it's probably best not to be too specific

Sounds good to me.

Also, I have it on very good authority that the decision was made because there are so many big budget 'spectacle' films coming out this spring and summer that an 'intelligent' film like Sunshine has a very good chance of getting lost. By this logic they may never find a suitable date. They are not confident in the film, are they?

By this logic they may never find a suitable date. They are not confident in the film, are they? That's not it at all. I think they just know that in the States if there are sequels or film franchises to compete against, it's tough for a relatively small budget, indie/British film starring "unknowns". The problem isn't in bigger cities, where films can run and run and run because there are far more cinema options. But the fact is, most film goers aren't in big cities and if there is a lot of competition for screentime, the franchises will *always* win out. Even if something like FF2 is a huge pile of poo, if people had to make a choice they'd probably go to that initially rather than Sunshine, an unknown quantity. And if the cinemas playing Sunshine aren't bursting at the seams, they will throw it away to put on the next AlienVPred instead. Sad, but true. Of course, it also depends on how well it does in other countries. They could, like they did with 28 Days Later, move the release date forward because of word of mouth from its success elsewhere...

Too bad the phrases "in limited release" and "opening wide" don't seem to be popping up here. Thinking of "She's All That," which took in more money in its sixth week of release than in its first, due to super word of mouth. Surprise, Miramax--!

Box Office Mojo says Fall of '07. December isn't Fall! And we've heard from Gia here that it's not December! That's just pushing it...

I really hope Gia is right, but all these places reporting December are worrying me. And technically it's fall until December 21.... Please Fox Searchlight, not later than September!!

I trust Gia's word more than those sites, though...

I am really tired of waiting for this s**t to come out. It isn't that I'm tired of Sunshine, of course, just that I'm tired of living in a place whose main demographic area is full of obese idiots without senses of taste. ( Super-generalized, but come on! I went to Disneyland the other day and was amazed at how many times I thought "Hey, look, another fat American tourist!") I'm sorry. Today is a s**tty day. But anyway! I wish I could go to England... (On a side note, I never realized that the "All-Mighty Naughty Word Catcher" replaces "s**t" with "nuts". LMAO)

The "All-Mighty Word Catcher" makes the funniest replacements. They're all default, of course. (i.e. "kiss my a**" = "I disagree", "sh*thead" = "meathead", "slu*t" = "very *friendly* person") Actually, I don't think I get censored....who knows? LOL EDIT// I am a victim of the "Catcher"!

Ha I like that! I gotta try it out sometime. Okay sooooo September I see.....::le sigh:: I just typed out a long rant but decided against it because, really what's the use? I just know that when Sunshine finally opens up across seas it's going to be a hard time to dodge all the spoilers.
