Im in my second term at IAFT right now and im from korea. What took me all the way to cebu was my genuine interest in filmmaking and since i visited the city in the summer of 2004, I've always wanted to get back for a longer stay. The approach here at IAFT is completely hands on - we work on professional sound stages, use state-of-the art High Definition filmmaking equipment, and make really tough creative and technical decisions. Here are some snapshots of our sessions.

That sounds very interesting june, but first: welcome to the forum. I've seen the video on the linked page, it must be really cool to work there. Maybe you can tell us more about it? I'd like to know how filmmakers record the sound of a movie.

Hi TheHunter,
First, thanks for the welcome. It feels so good to be welcomed by a senior member here. I appreciate it.
It's really nice to be in this different side of the world. So much learnings from day to day.
Well, Film sound is recorded with a midrange bump, and an EQ raise above 6KHz.
6KHz is the high end of the human voice. “Midrange” is around 2.5KHz. The film sound "EQ raise" at 6KHz increases dialogue intelligibility and perceived crispness. This will give a good sound in a movie.
