I had the idea for making this picture ever since I watched Sunshine. Until recently I never felt my photoshop skills were up to par with what I actually had in mind. It's not exactly as I imagined, I didn't intend on the whole grunge dark scene, but I think it works pretty well.. plus if the sun is in her hands, it can't be in the sky! 
..It's hard to find quality stock images to use as backgrounds, so I just search for a while and then use whatever I find 
. The girl is one of my friends whose picture I took at a party last week.. I asked her to pose as if she was holding the sun lol, she prolly thought I was crazy. I still think I can do better, maybe someday in the future I will come back and remake it. twice as cool and twice as real 
The biggest challenge was trying to make the lighting realistic.. I painted every shadow in the image with the default brushes.. The sun was also 100% painted. Another challenge is taking the low quality stock images and trying to make them better. I included some before and after shots zoomed in at 500% so you can get an idea of how much work it was to clean up the images before actually making the wallpaper ok i've officially rambled enough! Enjoy
