Is anyone going to watch this when it starts? Looks like Rose is a lead, after Glenn Close, and it actually looks like an interesting show. Check out the preview here: www.fxnetworks.com/So far, that week is going to be wonderful. Sunshine, Sunshine again, the Harry Potter Midnight party, Sunshine once more, and then Damages!

I was really suprised to see her on American television! I thought the day would never come, since all my other favorite actors or actresses (minus Nathan Fillion) never seem to come back in something that looks good..

Do you think that crossing over to television might kill off her movie career? I hope not.

Well, I'm really hoping not. For a lot of actors it seems that crossing over to TV has helped them get movie roles, especially if it's a good show. Maybe it's just from the shows I watch...

I was always thought that there was this unspoken rule that in order to maintain a good movie career, you should never crossover and do televisions.

That's Josh Duhamel.
But Rose is a top movie actress that has great movies in her filmography: Star Wars, I Capture The Castle, Troy, Wicker Park, Marie Antoinette, Sunshine, 28 Weeks Later, etc.
I just read somewhere that once top actors / actresses do regular tv, it's career suicide. Which leads me to the question: Is she gonna do this for good? or is she going to be in it for just one season?

Part of me hopes that she's in this for good because I wanna see her on TV every week, but you have a good point. It's hard to tell whether or not it'll be career suicide, I certainly hope not. Right now, we have no idea whether or not Rose is just a one-season thing, we just have to wait till the show starts I suppose.

It won't be career suicide-- it's definitely a solid show (yeah: I taped something AND watched it. Most of it, anyway. But [as we'll see outside the parens]--)--
Glenn Close is great. A truly disturbing mix of "whimsy" and "shark."
But--
1. The show reminded me of work. What I do facilitates legal research, so lawyer shows very quickly cross into yeah, yeah, yeah territory for me. Yep: I shoulda known...!
2. They played one of my Emergency Shutdown cards. My first ES card for a show-- TV, movie, whatever-- is rape. The other is cruelty to animals. Either-or, and I turn the program off and walk away. Again, maybe, it has something to do with my job: we see so much cruelty in print at work that cruelty has become utterly unentertaining. So, unfortunately, something bad happened to a character's dog, and I stopped the tape and shut off the TV. Silly, but true.
3. The boyfriend. He looks too much like Jason Bateman. Every time he was onscreen, I got the cover image for "Teen Wolf Too" stuck in my mind.
But never mind me. "Damages" is gonna do land-office business. People love these shows, and this one has solid writing and a good cast. Just ain't my cup of tea!

Well, yeah... I guess starring in a TV series with Glenn Close is a pretty good move too seeing as Glenn Close is also a top Hollywood movie actress.
