Cool! I sorta started a project like this last year because I wasn't familiar with some of the Sunshine cast (particularly Hiroyuki Sanada, Benedict Wong, Troy Garity & Cliff Curtis). I rewatched The Last Samurai (because I didn't notice Hiro at the first showing ) and I recently bought Royal Warriors from 1986 (starring Hiro & Michelle Yeoh ). I really want to see more movies featuring the other unfamiliar actors that I mentioned before. ;D I haven't decided which yet, but the fans over at the The Actors category have a few good suggestions. I believe one fan recommended Soldier's Girl (or something of that variation) for Troy and Dirty Pretty Things for Benny...

You should watch The Dead Girl (with Rose Byrne) as well! I'd love to hear what other people have to say about it, because I still haven't figured out whether or not I like it.

Thank you both for the suggestions! I think I will watch "The Dead Girl" for Rose, instead of "28 Weeks Later"; the more movies I can see out of this, the better!

That's a great idea! (which reminds me I havent written a review about Sunshine yet ) I'm trying to get my hands on the movies as well. I've seen all of Michelle's movies ( : and am aiming for all the coming ones too (especially Children of Huang Shi and Mummy 3). Also would like to recommend Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (although it's in chinese, you'll love it!), Memoirs of a Geisha (it's a really beautiful movie), Wing Chun (there's a tofu-fighting scene that you HAVE to watch!!!) and also Supercop. Of course there's more but I'll stop. So indirectly I saw Hiro too (in Royal Warriors ) I saw The promise (unfortunately Hiro's the only actor I like in there), The Last Samurai (since everyone loved it, I did too), trying to get my hands on Twillight Samurai and The White Countess, and also planning on watching Rush Hour 3 (Hiro in white! *gasp*). For Rose, I've seen Wicker Park (love it!) and rewatched Troy (paying more attention to her this time...) and I'm planning on watching The Dead Girl (the name makes it sound eerie, doesnt it?) and possibly Marie Antoinette (does Rose have a big role in this?) For Cillian, I've seen Batman Begins (his acting was so convincing that it freaked me out) and I'm planning to watch Red Eye, Watching the Detectives and the Wind that Shakes the Barley. For Chris, I've seen Fantastic Four and planning to watch the sequel and also The Nanny Diaries, The Perfect Score and The Orphan King (I'm actually looking for more details on the movie. IMDB did not provide much info) For Cliff, I've never seen of his movies before, but I'm trying to find Whale Rider, Runaway Jury, Fracture and The Fountain. Also Eagle vs Shark although he's not in it... For Benny, I only have Dirty Pretty Things in my to-watch list. I wanted to find more movies with him, hopefully not with just a few minutes of him. For Troy, I'm thinking of Soldier's Girl, After the Sunset and Lake City.

I've not seen very many films from any of the cast except Cillian. I watched a bit of the James Bond movie that had Michelle in it, though!
I saw The Dead Girl the other day (a week ago, I think, actually), and although I'm not sure whether I liked the film or not, I really enjoyed Rose's part (I think she probably can cry at the drop of a hat or something-- it reminds me of Rachel McAdams). She did a great job in 28 Weeks Later, as well, and the character she played in Wicker Park was definitely creepy. There's something about her that makes her really believable as all of the characters I've seen her play.
Batman Begins was the first film I ever saw with Cillian in it, and I was immediately really, really creeped out. The next was Red Eye, so I really understand why any American who recognizes his name will just partner him with "bad guys." A lot of his films aren't really readily available around here, and you sort of have to be looking for them to find them-- even the more popular ones like Cold Mountain and Girl With a Pearl Earring.
I really, really dislike Fantastic Four, and the second doesn't look to be any better. =/ I'm not a comic book or comic book movie fan, really. The Perfect Score, however, was pretty great.
Oh, and I really liked Fracture with Cliff in it!

Marie Antoinette is a must for Rose fans! She is perfect for the role that she plays!! She stole every scene she was in, at least in my opinion. I really want to see Wicker Park too because of Rose's obsessive nature (it reminds me of myself LOL). Troy was AMAZING!! I heard that Rose was considered for the Helen role, but she turned it down because Briseis was more attractive for her *cough*Brad Pitt*cough*. Amanda, I'll try to see The Dead Girl sometime, too. I like James Franco... I got hooked on Cillian Murphy in Red Eye so definitely don't miss that one! 28 Days Later was a good one, too. He gets chained up and I will leave it at that. Rush Hour 3 is also on my watch list for Hiroyuki Sanada. ;D The trailer looks fun! Visit the official site if you haven't already and go see it! I'm a comic book girl so I like all the superhero films. Sci-fi is one of my all-time favorite genres, too. Fantastic Four was cute and I'm looking forward to the sequel. If you really like comedies then I recommend seeing Chris Evans in Not Another Teen Movie. Sure it looks like a 'chick flick' but it really makes fun of all the cliches in teen romances. You get to see Chris almost completely naked, too (which is a bonus ).

I read someplace that Rose thought she connected better with Briseis than with Helen, but I've not seen Troy, so I wouldn't know. I never seem to get excited about the films that are all hyped up all over the place (aside from Harry Potter, but that doesn't count because, well, it's Harry Potter for god's sake [har har]), which is odd, I guess, but still pretty true.
I think the reason I liked The Dead Girl so much was because-- okay, let's start over. There are sex scenes in a lot of films, and a lot of times they're there for absolutely no point whatsoever, and there's not really any character development that's been accomplished from them. Those are the things I hate-- pointless relationships or something like that that really just take away from the story, or don't add anything to it. That's what fanfics are for. There's a sex scene between Rose's character and James Franco's character in The Dead Girl that has a point, and I was just really glad there was a point to it (but I'm not going to spoil it by discussing it any more in-depth than that), so even if I may not be a fan of the movie as a whole, I was definitely a fan of her part in it.
I actually might watch Marie Antoinette today at some point...
You know what's a great Cillian Murphy film? Aside from Breakfast on Pluto (which I seriously, seriously adore-- the book is really good, too), I mean? On the Edge. Has anyone here seen it? It's about a kid who tries to kill himself after his father's death and he ends up in a mental institution. It's got Stephen Rea in it as well (he was in Breakfast on Pluto with Cillian), and I cried (shock!).
Oh, and the whipped cream bikini in Not Another Teen Movie made me LOL, even before I knew who Chris was. And, hey, at least he plays a funny character in Fantastic Four. I'll be honest, he's the only reason I'm even going to see the second one. I feel like it's the only loyal thing to do. I'm going to watch Rush Hour 3 for Hiro even though I have no interest in those films either.
Amanda: *blabs about films.*

I love Wicker Park, she steals every scene in there too! (and I am obsessive too! ) I'm actually glad Rose chose Briseis over Helen. Helen's character is so blablabla... (and if you dont understand blablabla, i'm sorry, it's the only word I can come up with) Briseis is much more stronger and not so damsel-in-distress like, which I love. Which reminds me... the James Bond movie you mentioned earlier, Amanda, is Tomorrow Never Dies. I won't recommend it so much for the plot but if you're there to see Michelle, you won't regret it. I love how Michelle's character Wai Lin (although a bond girl) is not some... allow me to quote Michelle on this... "When you think of the Bond girls, you think of these bimbos yelling, 'Help, James! Save me, save me!' " LOL instead Wai Lin is a bond girl that kicks ass and does not (thank God!) sleeps with Bond. I'm really hoping to get Red Eye, been wanting to watch it since it's released! Cillian just makes a baddie loveable... I am considering watching On the Edge now... I'm not exactly a comic book fan, but I do watch the movies (spiderman, x-man, batman etc). I think Fantastic Four is ok, Human Torch is somewhat of a jerk but still I like him, more or less biased because of Chris... So yea.. I'll definately watch the sequel.

I've just watched Marie Antoinette.
Eh...
Rose was awesome, though. How exactly does she steal the thunder every time she's onscreen? It's so odd. She made me laugh, though, and she's got a really animated face.

She was funny and I looked forward to hearing all of her lines. ;D I'm not really a Dunst fan.

I got a heck of a kick out of "Marie Antoinette." Loved the color, the energy, the music. And the tragedy of it, too. Great performances all 'round. A very nice companion piece to the Norma Shearer/MGM version of the late thirties. Oh-- and I got the biggest laugh at the end: I was watching it in a cinema in London, and I had a row of teenage girls sitting behind me. At the end, one of 'em says, "Well, I wish they'd shown wha' 'appened to 'er!" And the one next over asks, "Well, what DID 'appen to 'er?" (Honestly, it was like every American's impression of London accents as brought to you by "My Fair Lady.") Replies the first one: "They cut 'er bleedin' 'ead off!" I just about fell over.... ;D Very odd treat for Saturday late-night: my niece, who sells far too many movies on eBay, lent me a copy of "Roaring Fire," a VERY early Sanada-san flick, in which Our Future Stalwart Captain Kaneda travels from Texas to Hong Kong (yep!) to avenge the death of the twin brother he never knew he had. Sonny Chiba lends a hand as an intrepid and mysterious detective who moonlights as a magician. Abdallah the Butcher takes Sanada-san under his wing and calls him "Little Tarzan." A Chinese Bogie impersonator runs a restaurant called "Casablanca." Sanada-san's long-lost blind sister is a stick-fighting expert. Oh, and there's a twenty-minute footchase involving ninjas, and another chase involving a horse and a helicopter. I am not making this up. And Sanada-san, who, at the age of twenty-two, was obviously out to become the Next Hardest-Working Guy in Action Cinema, sings the ending song, too. Holy carmelized cats on French toast, Batman....
