Another quick note - what are those haunting scenes, brittany? I'm as curious as surfergirl. I didn't exactly pick up on their scenes being 'haunting'. Although, admittedly, I haven't seen the movie since early March.
EDIT: Oops, I meant early MAY. Sorry!
...early March...what an IDIOT...
*facepalm*

One thing I noticed is that, as far as the 'guy-in-need-of-care' thing goes, when Mace and Capa get into another fight after the Voting scene, they beat each other up for a bit, but when they break apart, Cassie and Corazon just step over them. If Cassie's so concerned about Capa, you'd think she'd help him up or something. I'm glad she didn't though. No offense, Capsie fans. Maybe, by that time, she's had just about enough of the "manliness outbreaks"-- no matter the cause.... And both the "sources" at that point had just made a particularly chilling judgment call. Capa seems especially cold to me in the "voting" scene. I mean, I love Cillian Murphy, but at points in the film I think he takes the impersonal bit to the nth degree-- when the lth or mth degree would have done just as well, thanks very much!

Mmm, I know what you mean.
But at least Mace made a vague attempt to be sensitive towards Cassie with the chilling judgement call that you mentioned.
Capa was just cold as ice in that scene...
BUT...we're drifting off topic a little, and I'd love some more site members to give me an insight into their Sunshine ships.
Hear that, people?
Calling all shippers!

Re: Capazon. Don't know if it counts as a 'ship, really. Just a few moments here and there: think, most notably, of Mace's apology, when I realized that Capa's lab is right off the Oxygen Garden. Michelle has a reaction shot-- a sort of "boys will be boys" smile, and after that-- I dunno. Maybe it's that Corazon seems to be the most at-ease member of the team (when terrible things aren't happening to things that are very near and dear to her); she seems to have the most effortless connection to all the living beings on the ship, not just her plants. So I guess she seems the most effortlessly connected to Capa, who seems by far the most distant member of the team. Cassie's trying to reach him-- Cassie's a caregiver, and it shows-- but Corazon connects to the mission and its members in a more elemental, and therefore direct, way. Impersonal and very personal all at once. Soooo-- not exactly a 'ship. But, hey, who knows...? I agree, Corrie's is quite motherly... And I love that "boys will be boys" smile... I'm quite surprised at how Corrie can be both "impersonal and very personal", she cares for them yet she's not "sentimental".... Also, I really think Cassie had enough of "manliness", her "manliness" quote shows just how annoyed she is, Corazon too. "Air's low." hehe...

Oh my. Mel, I hope you don't think that I think that we think that Corazon is Kaneda's mother. I'm just suggesting that Kaneda and Corazon make lovely parents to the crew of the Icarus II. That rhymes! ;D

What scenes still haunt you brittany? I can't get the "Voting" scene out of my mind. If you still haven't seen the film, you can get a glimpse of what I'm talking about in the Rose Byrne video from SunshineDNA. Cassie tells Mace her answer and all it takes is that look and I'm hooked. There's also that scene where she is talking to Kaneda who is outside and her reaction to Mace's decision is priceless... but I'm giving away too much seeing that this thread is out in the open... Sorry for the late reply. I'm currently on vacation and turning 20.

Woah, nimue! You have sooo many more ships than I do. The ones on my list include:
OTP: Hudson/Vasquez - Aliens
Top Five (not inc H/V):
Mace/Cassie - Sunshine Jack/Lizzie - Pirates of the Carribean Jayne/Kaylee - Firefly Ryan Peake/Carmen Rodriguez - Headhunters (this is an RP I'm working on with four guys. If you want to check it out, PM me and I'll give you the link)
Top Ten (all of the above and...)
Abby/McGee - NCIS Lizzie/Norrington - POTC Kaneda/Corazon - Sunshine Owen/Gwen - Torchwood Hicks/Ripley - Aliens
I have many others, but I can't be bothered listing them all.
brittany: I watched the bit from the Voting scene...and OMG, I know what you mean. I can't even describe that look Mace gives her...
*dies of Massiefangirlitis*
*is ressurrected*
BTW, Happy Birthday Brittany! Hope you had/have a great day - may it be filled with Sunshininess from sunrise to sunset.
BTWx2 Chero, can you tell us why you ship Tressie? It's different from the other ships discussed on here so far, and I really wanna hear about it.
Thanks

I am an avid obsessed shipper that needs to get a love life of her own.
It's like every time I watch a tv series or a movie, I almost always end up shipping a couple no matter how un-couply they seem to be. Even in horror movies with no plot! I need medical help. Lol.

Welcome to my world, nimue. I mean, I'm pretty sure I must be the ONLY PERSON IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE who ships Hudson/Vasquez. It's so fanon I can barely describe it.
But that makes it special to me, which is why it's my OTP.

One True Pairing.
Most people have more than one, though.
BTW, I just reread your ship list - I also ship Lancelot/Guinevere from King Arthur

Oh yey! Most of those I know ship Arthur and Guinevere. I love Arthur but his love story with Guinevere never really appealed to me. He's like Mark while Lancelot and Guinevere are like Tristan and Iseult.
Have you read Mists of Avalon?

Nup. I never saw Tristan and Isolde either, because I was totally biased to what Tristan looked like after seeing Jerry Bruckheimer's version of King Arthur. He was basically a ninja.
But, like...a medieval ninja. With a pet falcon.
BTW have you seen the Director's Cut version of King Arthur? Extra L/G scenes for all!

Haven't seen it. I don't have the DVD. Can it be watched online? I was really pscyhed when I found out about the movie at first but then got a bit pissed off by the end of the movie when I saw that Guine and Lancy didn't hook up. I almost screamed hysterically in the theater, "This is an outrage!" --> Fortunately, my best friend was there to calm me down.
