The average astronaut's spacesuit consists of over 200 layers (maybe more) of different materials woven together which have varying properties, all designed to keep the astronaut alive. As you know, in 'Sunshine' the spacesuits are covered in gold (gold-plated?). Well, one of those layers in a real astronaut's suit is ALSO made of gold! OK, I don't know why I bothered to type this. Just another boring Sunday

More Trivia: In both Danny Boyle films ( 28 Days Later and Sunshine), Cillian Murphy's character has a nightmare; Jim imagines himself being left all alone while Capa imagines himself falling into the Sun. Interesting, eh?
