I went from staring at a little Sony 14inch TV to a LCD 32inch and I have to say watching Sunshine on it was a thrilling cinematic experience. And FULLSCREEN, too, not those bloody black bars on the top and bottom! (Don't ya just hate watching movies through letterboxes!) It just heightened it all the more to unthinkable levels. Can you imagine what it would look like on an IMAX? I get goose-pimples just thinking about it. How do you guys and gals watch it? redshift

I'm going to watch the movie on a good and big 16:9 standard TV. For the best experience you need Sunshine on BluRay-Disk and a FullHD-Plasma TV

My eyes are too old. That is to say, given my schizoid eyeglasses prescription, the "definition" doesn't really get much "higher" for me at this point. And, given the fact that most of the films I watch are pre-1945, microscopically sharper resolution doesn't enhance the viewing experience all that much for me. I'm happy as a clam with my 24-inch Toshiba and thirty-year-old "coffin cabinet" 27-inch RCA CRTs! ;D

i watch al my films on my computer, which despite having great sound and gfx, only has a 17" monitor to me sound is more important, i have a 6.1 sound system rigged up to it, and that makes the atmosphere spot on

I watched most of it on my computer...but after the first 2/3 I felt guilty. I wanted my first time seeing it to be really spectacular and special, because I had been looking so forward to it. So I stopped watching it, and am waiting for January 8th for the DVD release! I haven't even seen the ending yet, because I really want to see the whole thing on my basement TV I have a 106 incher, High Def, in my basement...I've never been more excited to see a film on that screen before! It's definitely going to be breathtaking!

Wow, I am jealous I hate watching movies on the PC because of the small screen and bad sound. I never do it... The image quality of a good CRT TV is always better than that. But what about the rental DVD, I think it were released yet.

If you have a crappy tv, this can be compensated for with a kick ass sound system. It really can. If live in a house, get a subwoofer etc and surround sound. Did this when I used to have room mates in a house, bad TV, great sound.
-- Or do what I did, I got a very nice 25 inch letterbox Samsung Tube HDTV, it was only $400 after rebates and Tube really does have a superior picture to any other HD and will last longer, although Tube is heavy and takes up a lot of space. Its just as big letter boxed as a 36 inch old school square tv. Hold you over until you can afford a biggie.

I watch Sunshine on a tiny TV screen, I wish I had seen it when it was in our massive cinema, V-MAX

This is a great thread! I am a new member and just saw Sunshine for the first time last week. I also happen to be in the position of "having" to buy a new TV. (I am upgrading from my older Mitsu' 65" projection) I am looking at a 47-50" HD-LCD, and I am actually planning on taking my copy of the Sunshine DVD to the store to use as a test for both models I am looking at. Whichever one makes me smile during the "Mercury" scene is coming home with me. Bill
