Greetings to you all, fellow fans of Sunshine. I am Rhodri, aka Zero. I finally joined the forum after months of lurking around. Events of late have finally prompted me here. Like the other members here, I'm an avid fan of Sunshine, leaving my Blu-Ray Disk of the film to loop over and over again, I play the soundtrack loud and constantly and...you know what I could go on all day about this, so I'll sum it up with a simple phrase: I LOVE SUNSHINE! woot!!! Catch you around

Wow you have the BluRay, don't make me jealous ;D Do you have a BluRay-drive for your PC or a player+flat screen? I'm going to get a drive but it's certainly not the same. And the BluRays are rather expensive. Last but not least: Welcome to the forum

And the BluRays are rather expensive. Last but not least: Welcome to the forum What is the big deal with Blu-Ray? It's just another way for them to milk you for every penny you've got, by trying to convince you to re-purchase your entire DVD collection just because they tell you a Blu-Ray disc is 3-4 times sharper. What a bloody con. I saw on Amazon that the Sunshine DVD got an average of 3-stars, while the Blu-Ray edition got 4-and-a-half. IT'S THE SAME DAMN MOVIE, YOU MORONS! You think Danny Boyle made one version for DVD and another for Blu-Ray?! Jeez, people actually rate a movie according to how BRIGHT and CLEAR the picture is! Nevermind the storyline, characters, acting! That's how gullible Blu-Ray has made people! Honestly, I can appreciate a film like Sunshine shining a bit brighter on Blu-Ray, but come on! It aint worth it.

First and foremost, welcome to the forum, Zero! I'm glad you made the decision to become a member. : : Second, I can understand the frustration at the expensive Blu-ray dilemma as an avid DVD collector, redshift. However, I find it at least appealing to save up for a Blu-ray player considering that they are compatible with regular DVDs as well as CDs. I plan on doing that and buying Blu-ray discs of only movies that I really love - like Sunshine and Slumdog Millionaire. I'll definitely continue buying other movies in the cheaper DVD format. No question. I can't afford to repurchase my whole DVD collection either and I really don't feel a need to for a majority of them anyways. Also, Blu-ray discs can hold more data which means more exclusive extras for the buck. If you love a movie that much, there's a huge plus! Sunshine alone has an enhanced viewing mode with the filmmakers on Blu-ray. Anyways, that's my take on the topic.
