Who's excited to see the film? IMDB: www.imdb.com/special/atonement_uk/It's buzzed to be Oscar-worthy. McAvoy, Knightley and Wright are three of my favorites in the film business and I love how they're working together! I nearly spazzed when I heard. James McAvoy is the best actor of our time (second to Cillian Murphy of course), IMHO.

I love Jimmy McAvoy-- we were lucky enough to see him at the premieres of "Penelope" and "The Last King of Scotland" at the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival-- and "Atonement" is, in my absolutely un-humble opinion, one of the top ten books of the last thirty years or so (or even more): it's a great story and an absolutely GENIUS exercise in style. So-- having said all that-- I'm a little afraid to see the movie. The story is so dependent on a transformation in terms of writing style that I'm finding it hard to imagine how the book will translate to the screen. But, yeah, I'm THERE....

That's bound to happen -- books will NEVER be successfully translated into screen ever, IMO. However, Atonement is in great hands and I hope not to many people will leave the theater too disappointed.
