Two moons on 27 August
Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will culminate on Aug 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth.
Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12.30 A.M. It will look like the earth has two moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.
Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.

Yea I glanced over some astronomy magazines for this month, and the big thing they were talking about is a lunar eclipse this month. In order for Mars to look as big as the moon don't we have to have some really fancy light bending magnification going on up there? Something that I don't think we have... www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=a&id=5771
