Mods, just realized that I wasn't able to post this on the Fan Vids section. Can someone move it?

No problem, nimue! Okay, the title alone on this video made me refuse to watch it. The song has *nothing* to do with fandoms. Seeing this video is extremely aggravating because it destroys the song, a song which if applied correctly would help explain one of Sunshine's main points - that mankind's only enemy is itself. Incorporating a fandom into it takes away from that. Personally, I was planning on making a general Sunshine music video with this song because I think it fits *perfectly* in my scheme that Pinbacker is comparable to Hitler.

Out of curiosity, chero-- asking as something of a World War II buff, what parallels are you recognizing between Pinbacker and Hitler...?

I was thinking of both of them in terms of radical beliefs and actions. Of course they are not completely the same. For one thing, Pinbacker's execution order was, well, more massive.

Okay-- Just for comparison, here's how I see them: Hitler wanted to remake the world in a certain (that is to say Aryan) image. (It's always struck me as ironic, too, that he was about as far from that Aryan physical ideal as it was possible to be.) He was a would-be world- (or empire-) builder. Too bad there was already a world in the spot where he planned to put his world up. Pinbacker, on the other hand, is not, as such, a world builder as much as he's a world negater. Whereas Hitler (through massive destruction and ethnic cleansing, granted) wanted to lay the foundations for a Thousand-Year Reich, Pinbacker recognizes no future. He has no plans. He is striving to replace our world with nothing. Oddly, I've always seen eerie parallels between Hitler and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Both men dragged their countries out of awful economic depressions, both were extremely charismatic speakers who knew how to work the media to their advantage, both lowered their nations' unemployment rates, and both started national public works and highway systems.... Just thinking....
