... which is a documentary, I know-- it follows the United States' efforts to put a man on the moon in the 1960s-- but it's better than science fiction: how good it is to see that sometimes truly incredible technological endeavors can work and, with the intelligence and discipline of the human element involved, work so beautifully. Absolutely awe-inspiring and uplifting. Can't recommend this one highly enough.
And, oddly enough, the film does touch on "Sunshine" in a profound (if slightly indirect) way, when one of the astronauts assigned to "orbiter duty" recalls looking out during the return trip to Earth and thinking, "What we're made of comes from the stars. The stars are part of us."
Really: this is a beautiful, inspiring film (even given the cruddy projection and damaged print at the good ol' Lagoon). Get out and see it!
