I've never seen much of Star Trek so I'll have to put my vote on Star Wars. Chewy and Han Solo are hilarious! I also like Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi...

Y'know... this is a hard one. I grew up watching (and playing) "Star Trek," but "Star Wars" Episode 4 contains two of my all-time greatest ever sci-fi moments. Really, they're two very different animals. Kind of like that old Almond Joy/Mounds bar commercial: "Sometimes you feel like a nut/Sometimes you don't." Think the tiebreaker for me was the amount of Sheer Nerd Effort I've put into each one over the years. In that category, "Star Trek" is the clear winner, because ( drum roll, please) I once won a costume contest at a "Star Trek" convention. Yep. You'll never guess as what-- or who. Really. You won't. No. I mean it.

This is so far beyond "stumped" that it would take the light from "stumped" over a year to reach it. We're a little shorter-handed than usual tonight, so I gotta sign off right now... but I'll be back with the very, very silly answer later...! In the meantime, I'll just say "Next Generation" and "not quite there." Alrightaroo-- Backstory: In "Star Trek: The Next Generation," Dr. Beverly Crusher is a widow, her husband having been killed while serving under Captain Picard aboard Picard's old ship, the Stargazer. So... that's who I was. Dr. Crusher's dead husband, Jack. It was one big snicker to do. We see Jack Crusher-- dead-- for all of eight seconds in a dream sequence in one episode of TNG. So the gang and I got a tape of the episode (this was well pre-DVD!), froze on the frame where we could see Crusher most clearly on the mortuary slab, and sketched out his wounds. It looked as though his face had basically been torn off and sewn back on. So I ended up with latex scar makeup running across my forehead, along my cheek and jaw, and under my chin to my throat, all colored in a lovely "mortuary fridge" purple-gray. A friend sewed my costume (I found the rank pins), and then, since I was supposed to be at least mostly dead, he found himself a lab coat and spent the day wheeling my carcass around the con on a handcart. People got a hell of a kick out of it-- especially the women who'd shown up as Dr. Crusher. The "zombie guy" was a huge hit with the kids, too.... ;D

Let me preface by saying -- at the risk of getting torn to pieces -- that I don't care for Star Wars or Star Trek at all. My dad loves Star Wars and my wife loves Star Trek: TNG. I just don't get it, personally. My tastes in SF tend toward "darker" fare. HOWEVER... ...everyone interested in this debate being "kicked up a notch" should check out www.stardestroyer.net. This is a great site where the topic of Star Wars vs. Star Trek is discussed in nerdy, obsessive detail (with a bent toward SW). The "Hate Mail" section is hilarious. The site owner definitely knows his physics. He's a sharp guy. BG7

Star Wars!! Im not too keen on the originals.. but the new ones are awesome! I have two of those real-ish Lightsabers and an entire jedi costume (a monk robe thing I found at costume castle). Me and my two best friends each have a lightsaber.. and we used to run around with them all the time and stage battles in front of theatres and stuff One time we snuck up on someone's bonfire at a beach late at night and jumped up on their tables and had a whole fight scene played out ending with my friends viloent death as i knocked him off the table.. we ended up knocking all their stuff around as we jumped from table to table, but we didn't know them so we didn't mind When we finished everyone cheered for us and we ran away into the dark before anyone realized we weren't with their party

The original SW Films have the best ScFi-Action ever.

It's clearly Star Wars. I mean Trek has it's merits but I grew up watching the original holy trilogy. the prequels. Well, I liked Sith a lot but it's nothing compared to the original trilogy.
