In case anyone notices my face missing (which, of course, can only be an improvement), it's because I cried it clean off watching this one. (Now I can be an extra in the sequel. The Faceless Androgything, or something like that. Cool.) Now, THAT'S a movie--!!!

I love, love, LOVE Pan's Labyrinth!! We didn't get it where I work (shock horror!), but when I went to Charleston, WV, to see a concert, my friend and I stayed an extra day to "sight see" (but it's Charleston, so there wasn't really a lot to see) and we ended up watching this and The Number 23. This one was WAY better. I was so totally creeped out throughout, but then at the end I cried and cried and cried, and my friend looked at me like I'd grown an extra couple of heads, because apparently I was putting way more thought into it than anyone else in the theater (granted, that was only about eight people or so... and in West Virginia, soo...).
BUT, I loved it, and that is the point. I REALLY loved it!

I want to get the DVD of this! It was AMAZING! I had no idea what I was in for on this one, but I'm glad I took the risk. Scary as hell but brilliant.

I got a feminist impression from this film. Remember, people, feminism is another word for democracy. YeAH! Boy, was that father of hers an a$$hole!! Masculinity to the extreme, I'd say. On another note, I sometimes put the backs of my hands on my eyelids to freak Brittany out...

That back of the hand/eye guy *still* scares me... I was shocked by how violent it is. Really shocked actually. But a wonderful film nonetheless...
I need to get this on DVD...

Pan's Labyrinth was amazing....really a movie that many can appreciate. It deals with realistic problems and also adds surrealism with the fairies and other mythical creatures. There's a subtle but deep meaning to the entire movie. The monster with the eyes on his hands freaked me out, though if i was Pan i'd kick him where it hurts......oh wait...they probably just dried up and fell off...hmmm, that poses a problem...

Randomly spotted that they were showing this on film4 last night and i'm damn glad I watched it. Glad it wasn't as kiddy as i thought it'd be. I loved the fact that she got shot at the end, not because i'm harsh like that but because it added to the grittyness of the movie. The fact that she imagined she was going to see her parents in the afterlife at the end (when infact she was just dying in a pool of blood), just added to the innocence of her charater. Infact in my eyes it made the ending more sad and even more poinient. The flower thing on the tree was just there to make stupid people think she went to the afterlife and feel less sad! ;D

Sure it had a kid in it so it did have some child-like fantasy elements, but hell I wouldn't call smashing someones face in with a beer bottle particularly kiddy though! Guy
