I was browsing through some old photos and sort of trying to maybe perhaps possibly (read: not at all) clean them out or something and I found this gorgeous photograph I took a while back. My computer says it was "Last Modified" on May 31st of 2006, so I'm guessing it was around then when I took it, but it reminded me of this forum and the Flickr photos thing, so I decided to post it. Anyone else take any great photographs of the sun?

Wow, Gia, that's gorgeous! My mother is obsessed with me taking photographs of sunrises and sunsets whenever we go places where it's got a nice view, like the beach, so here's one from Atlantic City.

This one's kind of a cheat.... See, it's not the sun: it's the full moon, as photographed over Lake Superior just north of Duluth, Minnesota, in late August 2002. A work friend took it. Sorry for the noise and dust: had to scan it from the photo I have hanging over my desk in Cubeland. But I just love it: it's like a nightsider's view of the sun.

Thank you.... I look at it every day. It's one of the things that keeps me sane at work. Mariah and her husband took a corresponding day shot; unfortunately, the sun's not in it!
And, by the by, Amanda: happy, happy belated birthday!

Ok, so this is the first picture I've ever posted, and after a ridiculous amount of time trying to get it online, I finally have it (I think....I hope). It's not that spectacular, but I just thought it was interesting. This pic was taken on Christmas Eve outside Chicago, and it was eerily foggy, so the sun looked.....a bit strange.

WOW. It really does look strange. Like it's not shining brightly enough... our sun is DYING.

I knew someone would pick up on it. We're all just a bunch of junkies anyway.
