I am sick and tired of nobody having the soundtrack to sunshine. And the fact that i am not allowed to send it to anyone is completely ridiculous. So I am telling everyone how to receive a copy of the soundtrack from John Murphy HIMSELF! It is actually very easy, just go to John Murphy's imdb page (Internet Movie Database) here www.imdb.com/name/nm0614373/ then scroll down to the discussion board for John Murphy located here www.imdb.com/name/nm0614373/board and John Murphy himself started a thread titled Does anyone want Cds of any of the scores? located here www.imdb.com/name/nm0614373/board/thread/114546058 which gives John Murphy's personal email address were he is willing to send cd copy's of his scores to anyone that provides to him their home address, which I indeed did and received the soundtracks to Sunshine, 28 Weeks Later, Millions, The Man, and Basic Instinct 2 along with an autograph. I hope everyone is able to get their very own copy, because for some reason we aren't allowed to share it and create valuable composing time for John Murphy to create more wonderful scores instead of taking time to send everyone cd's.

Re: not being able to send it to anyone being completely ridiculous: Please read the Soundtrack Board Policy. We're not condoning traffic in bootlegs. Re: obtaining the "Sunshine" soundtrack through that IMDB link. John Murphy does post over there under "johnmurphy_chaos," so the "send me your address" thing might be legit. One thing, though: he does NOT say in the IMDB message "Go forth and share this music WITH THE ENTIRE INTERNET." Mr. Murphy-- if that is, in fact, Mr. Murphy, and not someone who's got a "-" instead of a "_"-- or vice versa-- in his username-- phishing schemes have made this old nut paranoid!-- is inviting inquiries on a person-by-person basis. (Which could mean one of several things: he doesn't want to incur the wrath of the record-label and studio copyright gods by redistributing tracks already available on soundtrack albums such as "28 Weeks Later," or, possibly, he's still hoping to see album profits from the unreleased material from "Sunshine.") It's HIS time to spend-- or not-- sending out this music, just as it's HIS profit on the chopping block. Widespread distribution of his music is not our call to make. So I'd say, at this late point, it's caveat emptor time. We won't post song links here at the board (unless Mr. Murphy himself gives us permission), but if people want to email Mr. Murphy at IMDB for links to the tracks, they're certainly free to do so. Edited to add: I've gone ahead and put in my own soundtrack request at IMDB. I've also asked Mr. Murphy, respectfully, if he would be willing to allow us here at the board to identify the IMDB link as a fair, legitimate way of obtaining the soundtrack, or if he might even be willing to stop by and say a few words to his fans. Here's hoping....

I fully understand the policies of this forum and will abide by them to the fullest. I am sorry if i came off as being arrogant I was only stating my point of view and that was all. I have all the potential to provide it as a torrent, but i will NOT do so out of fear of being sued by anyone, especially fox. Now to the next topics,1) here is the link to the thread were he does prove he is John Murphy www.imdb.com/name/nm0614373/board/thread/90162719 2) please provide the link to the referencing of his music as "crap" b/c I do not recall reading anything to the sort coming from John Murphy. 3) Since I informed you of John Murphy providing his email address on John Murphy's IMDB page John Murphy (or the impostor to your sources) has deleted his thread titled Does anyone want Cd's of any of the scores? which is making me scared that his offer might be off the table. He possible could have been offering the scores on that forum due to its low profile and now that it has been found out by a flurry of fans or the "copyright gods" he is no longer providing them. I am truly sorry if I ruined everyones chances to getting their hands on a copy of the score by getting the word out of his offer so I have also deleted my posts on IMDB that contained John Murphy's email address b/c for some reason he didn't want his posting of his own email address to be seen. I have had the soundtrack for around five months and believe you me it is pristine as far as quality, I am using studio reference monitors to listen to it and absolutely no noise, crackling, or scene garbling exists. Here is the track listing for those that are interested. 1. Capa's Jump (1:22) 2. Sunshine (4:28) 3. Mercury (2:10) 4. D Major Theme (1:17) 5. Kanada's Death pt.2 (2:49) 6. Mace Dies (1:55) 7. Capa Suits Up (1:54) 8. Searle's Last Blast (0:52) 9. Elegy (1:43) 10. Cassie Searches - Dead Corazon (2:41) 11. Kanada's Death pt.1 (3:13) 12. Freezing Outside (2:54) 13. Pinbacker Slashes Capa (1:44) 14. Freezing Inside (1:50) 15. Corazon finds the Seedling (1:20) 16. Floating Free (1:20) 17. Scooter - Nightmare (1:10) 18. Escaping the Icarus 2 (3:09)

I just changed my post. I can't remember where I saw the "crap." I think it was somewhere here, on the Soundtrack board. But as you didn't say it, and I don't believe that his music is crap, it's a moot point. Or point-less, like approximately ninety-nine percent of what goes on on internet chat-boards.
Does any of this matter? Not really. I would like a clean copy of the soundtrack, sanctioned by Mr. Murphy himself. In lieu of that, being dead would do just as nicely. I think I've been here long enough.
Sorry if I got bristly, dyingsun. Take care.

If you want to know where a clean copy can be obtained I could PM you the link if it isn't against forum policy.

*UPDATE* Someone has since surface on the youtube comments for this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWlXU2DeYkQ claiming to be John Murphy's wife who is willing to send the soundtrack to anyone's home address. This seems very probable b/c of the recently closed discussion at his IMDB page. But we will have no verification to this source until someone receives a copy by asking for it from this person.

Curiously, John Murphy's supposed answers to the questions on that thread are deleted, apparently removed by the poster. Why did he do that? The questions were about his personal life to test his credibility, not anything to do with the soundtrack.
Regardless, I'm left no clearer as to whether a soundtrack exists or not. Seems like endless smoke and mirrors, claims and counter claims. Proving the legitimacy of anything on the 'net is notoriously hard these days.
My advice: stick to watching the movie. The music works best with the visuals anyway, I would imagine.

Well, I have been following the whole soundtrack issue for a while and every time there is an 'official' soundtrack available via it turns out to be a rip from the DVD and includes limited sound effects. This John Murphy promo unreleased CD does apparently exist and I would love to get my hands on the actual CD. In the meanwhile I have heard it and it IS REAL!! I wasn't going to believe it but after some investigation, I found it via and have to wonder if it was Murphy's plan to send copies to people to allow an eventual exposure via internet methods since he can't get any official release. Hopefully he didn't send a bunch out hoping no one would make this available to the internet community. With all this said, I would still love to support an official release on CD or ITunes or track down the actual promo because it is very nice.

Just ask charlotteLmurphy (John Murphy's wife) on the comments to this youtube video www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWlXU2DeYkQ and she will send you a copy of the soundtrack if you pm her your home address. Usually takes around three weeks she says.

John sent me one in the post last week. Hell, I didn't even have to pay for p&p. Great guy and an awesome soundtrack. Shame he's a Liverpool fan.

I received not only "Sunshine" but "28 Weeks Later" and four other discs and an autograph as well. Frankly, I'm a little stunned. In a very happy way. I'm in Minnesota, by the by, just to offer perspective on the logistics at work here. Mr. -- or Mrs.-- Murphy (per the grapevine, his wife was assisting in getting these packets out) has gone through a great deal of trouble to prepare and ship these discs. A touched and grateful "wow" from a music fan in the Mighty Midwest.
