Hello Sunshine Fans!

I'm Jamie and am very excited to join the Sunshine Fan Forum!!!

I and a large group of Sanada-san fans have been waiting for Sunshine to be released for what seems like decades! The wait has been nearly PAINFUL for all of us, but finally ... we begin to see ... the LIGHT at the end of the tunnel. (Pun totally intended!)
And being able to join up with more fans of this movie will make the wait less painful and way more FUN. I'm LOVING this whole countdown thing!!!


CHERO - YOUR FORUM DESIGN IS AWESOME! I can actually FEEL the HEAT of the SUN in here!!!! I can tell already that this place is going to be a huge hit for Sunshine and cast member fans. What a great tribute to the film!!! (I've posted links to this forum in my own forum, so be prepared to be swarmed by a bunch more SUNSHINE nuts.)

Now about me, personally, I'm a computer geekette, by profession (programming/financial/computing analytics) and I think most computer freaks are sci-fi fans, by nature. So the subject matter of Sunshine is extremely appealing to me and I am DYING to see it. I just know the story is going to be so awesome and with SO many excellent actors, it will just have to be a hit. Yes, I am a Sanada-san fan to my bones, but I am familiar and crazy about several other actors in this film. OMG - Cillian Murphy is ... I can't even find the words to express how interesting I find him to be and Michelle and Troy and the others - this is just such an amazingly talented and beautiful group of actors!!! WOW!

I could rave on for days, but best calm down for now. I need to get in here and read through the rest of the posts in this forum. I really look forward to talking to you guys about this film as time draws nearer to it's release and then oh what fun it will be to have talks once we've all seen it.



(one other thing to note ... I'm something of a "smiley freak", but I doubt that was very noticable)

Sorry to be so long winded in my posts, but when I get excited about something my typing fingers go WILD. I just don't know how much longer I can wait for this movie before I EXPLODE. (Where's an exploding smiley when ya need one?)

This may be a stupid question, but this film will be a major U.S. nationwide release, is that correct? I watch a lot of foreign films and tend to have to wait ungodly amounts of time for them to show in the U.S. That couldn't happen with Sunshine, could it? Is it a "Hollywood" film, independent film or is it a British film? No, I've not spent enough time in Gia's site or I'd probably know this already - but if anyone knows off the top of their head, I'd really appreciate the info. THANKS!

I've added the international dates I've found over at IMDb some days ago. You should check the forum's calendar out, starting with March 2007.

I'd hate to give you false information, but I believe it's a British film and it will have a U.S. nationwide release.

It's in the hands of Fox Searchlight, so it should have a nice, solid, semi-wide release. Fox films get released.

(Unlike certain movies that Miramax sometimes sits on without explanation-- or certain films in the mitts of Pathe and its blundering distributors-- or maybe they should expand it to "Pathetic": "Wind That Shakes the Barley," anyone...? Anyone here in the States see that one...? After all, it only won that Golden Palm thingy at Cannes.... )

No I haven't seen the "Barley" movie and I'm very upset! You should make a thread on it to find out if anyone saw it. I've only seen some screencaps on it.
