On September 1st, 2005, SunshineDNA posted on their blog regarding Cillian Murphy's exposed iTunes Playlist. The first paragraph was as follows: "Earlier today I was adding some songs to my ‘Sunshine Playlist’. I’ve decided to only listen to music that is about the Sun while I’m working." This got me thinking on what music would be classified as "Sun" music. What do you guys think?

Forgive me, Chero, but I want to share this song and no one has posted yet. The song is by Keane and sounds very "spacey." It's titled (drum-roll, please?) " Sunshine." Click below to read the lyrics... "Sunshine" by Keane
I hold you in my hands A little animal And only some dumb idiot Would let you go But if I'm one thing Then that's the one thing I should know Can anybody find their home Out of everyone Can anybody find their home
I hold you in cupped hands And shield you from a storm Where only some dumb idiot Would let you go
But if I'm one thing Then that's the one thing I should know Can anybody find their home Out of everyone Can anybody find their home Lost in the sun Can anybody find their home Come on, come on, come on Can anybody find their home
Oh oh-oh-oh-oh Can anybody find their home Out of everyone Can anybody find their home Lost in the sun Can anybody find their home Come on, come on, come on Can anybody find their home
Oooooh Can anybody find their home ...

Yay! You have that Keane song, too! Alright, here's a new one. It's a popular one so I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet. It's Away From The Sun by 3 Doors Down. Click below for lyrics. "Away From The Sun" by 3 Doors Down
It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense Can anyone tell what I've done I miss the life I miss the colours of the world Can anyone tell where I am
'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun again Away from the sun again
I'm over this I'm tired of living in the dark Can anyone see me down here The feeling's gone There's nothing left to lift me up Back into the world I know
And now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun That shines to light the way for me To find my way back into the arms That care about the ones like me I'm so far down, away from the sun again
It's down to this I've got to make this life make sense And now I can't tell what I've done
And now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines to light the way for me
'Cause now again I've found myself So far down, away from the sun That shines into the darkest place I'm so far down, away from the sun That shines to light the way for me To find my way back into the arms That care about the ones like me I'm so far down, away from the sun again
Oh no... Yeah... I'm gone...

Wowza. My second-shift [read: anti-light, vampire-esque, seasonal-affective-disorder-a-specialty] outer layer is crisping just LOOKING at that list! Hey... how about "Falling Into the Sun," by Monster Movie (not to be confused with Movie Monster)? Ain't no one gonna have THAT tune right on hand!

Here's a fluffy song that I like to listen to. It starts out weird but the chorus is addicting. Oh and the rap near the end is laughable but cute. "Good Morning Sunshine" by Aqua When the sun is up, on a clear blue sky, you will act like a lover When the sky is grey, and the rain comes down, you will run for cover
Feel the heat, come out of cold, and your arm is touching me
Good morning sunshine, you're my only light lying with me by my side, you keep me warm all day Just stay with me
Good morning sunshine, be with me all day Just don't let the rain pass you by When it's cloudy and windy and the snowflakes arrive, you somehow just make me, make me feel I'm alive
When you leave my field then you light the stars Fading away in horizon there's a million streets leading off the night, waiting for sun to be risen
Feel the heat, come out of cold, and your arm is touching me Good morning sunshine, you're my only light, lying with me by my side, you keep me warm all day Just stay with me
Good morning sunshine, be with me all day Just don't let the rain pass you by When it's cloudy and windy and the snowflakes arrive, you somehow just make me, make me feel I'm alive
Hold it right there, let me take a minute of your time, to explain how I feel through these rhymes I do the best I can, and believe me if I could I'll build you a paradise with these two hands the touch of your skin, makes my body go numb, I'm thinking to myself, if my dream come true, or is it 'cause you never give me a chance to tell you how I feel, the moments we had were too precious to kill.
When it is cloudy and windy, please turn your face at me
Good morning sunshine, you're my only light, lying with me by my side, you keep me warm all day Just stay with me
Good morning sunshine, be with me all day, Just don't let the rain pass you by, when it is cloudy and windy and the snowflakes arrive, you somehow just make me, make me feel I'm alive make me feel I'm alive...

I want to make a mixed tape of "sun" songs within the next few weeks. However, no song makes me think about this movieso much as "Starlight", by Muse. Far away This ship is taking me far away Far away from the memories Of the people who care if I live or die
Starlight I will be chasing the starlight Until the end of my life I don't know if it's worth it anymore
Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold You in my arms
My life You electrify my life Let's conspire to re-ignite All the souls that would die just to feel alive
But I'll never let you go If you promised not to fade away Never fade away
Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations
Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold You in my arms
Far away This ship is taking me far away Far away from the memories Of the people who care if I live or die
And I'll never let you go If you promise not to fade away Never fade away
Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations Our hopes and expectations Black holes and revelations
Hold you in my arms I just wanted to hold You in my arms I just wanted to hold

"The Space Between" by Dave Matthews Band
You cannot quit me so quickly Is no hope in you for me No corner you could squeeze me But I got all the time for you, love The Space Between The tears we cry Is the laughter keeps us coming back for more The Space Between The wicked lies we tell And hope to keep us safe from the pain
But will I hold you again? These fickle, fuddled words confuse me Like 'Will it rain today?' Waste the hours with talking, talking These twisted game we play
We're strange allies With warring hearts What wild-eyed beast you be The Space Between The wicked lies we tell And hope to keep us safe from the pain
Will I hold you again? Will I hold...
Look at us spinning out in The madness of a roller coaster You know you went off like a devil In a church in the middle of a crowded room All we can do, my love Is hope we don't take this ship down
The Space Between Where you're smiling high Is where you'll find me if I get tickled The Space Between The bullets in our firefight Is where I'll be hiding, waiting for you The rain that falls Splash in your heart Ran like sadness down the window into... The Space Between Our wicked lies Is where we hope to keep safe from pain
Take my hand 'Cause we're walking out of here Oh, right out of here Love is all we need here The Space Between What's wrong and right Is where you'll find me hiding, waiting for you The Space Between Your heart and mine Is the space we'll fill with time The Space Between...

Monster Movie, "Falling Into the Sun":
All lost at sea Chasing idle dreams These philosophies Were made up of things we had time to believe
But I’m trying to get Glimpses of what comes next What can we expect To get for the time we’ve spent?
Down on our knees Crying and begging but impossible to please We just feed and feed Gasping for air we really don’t need
But I’m scared of what I’ll become Scared of what I have and haven’t done I’m still scared of falling into the sun Scared the other ones will never come
‘Cause I don’t wanna live my life all alone Always hoping for a chance that’s already gone It’s all we’ll do It’s all we’ll do
Shaking in the wind Why don’t you just go back in? You’re always starving Why don’t you stop measuring?
But I’m scared of what I’ll become Scared of what I have and haven’t done I’m still scared of falling into the sun Scared the other ones will never come
‘Cause I don’t wanna live my life all alone Always hoping for a chance that’s already gone It’s all we’ll do It’s all we’ll do
(With a nod to the guys from Slowdive who hold the copyright to these lyrics!)

I listen to this song at least once a day... LINKIN PARK "Papercut"Why does it feel like night today? Something in here's not right today. Why am I so uptight today? Paranoia's all I got left I don't know what stressed me first Or how the pressure was fed But I know just what it feels like To have a voice in the back of my head Like a face that I hold inside A face that awakes when I close my eyes A face watches every time I lie A face that laughs every time I fall (And watches everything)
So I know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is hearing me Right beneath my skin
It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin
I know I've got a face in me Points out all my mistakes to me You've got a face on the inside too and Your paranoia's probably worse I don't know what set me off first But I know what I can't stand Everybody acts like the fact of the matter is I can't add up to what you can but
Everybody has a face that they hold inside A face that awakes when I close my eyes A face watches every time they lie A face that laughs every time they fall (And watches everything)
So you know that when it's time to sink or swim That the face inside is watching you too Right inside your skin
[x2] It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin
The face inside is right beneath your skin [x3]
The sun goes down I feel the light betray me The sun goes down I feel the light betray me
The sun I feel the light betray me The sun I feel the light betray me
It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin
It's like I'm paranoid lookin' over my back It's like a whirlwind inside of my head It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

Finally got around to breaking open my Robert Plant "Nine Lives" box set, and does "Shine It All Around" ever fit here! The video, too: it's all brilliance and reds and golds and burns and shimmers-- an intensity of a different kind, maybe, more upbeat than "Sunshine," but it really reminds me of the "international" trailer in a good way. Make that a great way: he might be looking a little rough, but Robert's voice just goes from strength to strength!

Matt Costa sings a song called "Sunshine." It's kind of amazing. Here are lyrics, under the SPOILER! tag to save space. Sunshine I'd really like to tell you Oh, my sunshine Even though your skies are blue You're drying up my bed How can I get any rest now? Sha la la la la la la la
Someday You will get the best of me Oh, someday Probably when I'm old and grey I'm lying in my bed And I will soon be put to rest now Sha la la la la la la la
Sunshine I'd really like to tell you Oh, my sunshine Even though your skies are blue You're drying up my bed How can I get any rest now? Sha la la la la la la la
Someday You will get the best of me Oh, someday Probably when I'm old and grey I'm lying in my bed And I will soon be put to rest now
I'm lying in my bed And I will soon be put to rest now (Ooh ooh) Sha la la la la la la la

"Summer's Gone" by Feeder fits the depression of the trailers, haha! I'll take a leaf out of Amanda's book though... Crack and break, life's big mistake, I'm feeling it too, there's no way home. The summer's gone, The summer's gone away.
Back down to earth, a conscience burst, I'm feeling it too, just slipped away. The summer's gone, The love has gone, The sun has gone away, Away
It's turned to grey, just burned away, A moment too soon, we've turned to grey... Just like yesterday, It's turned to black and white.
Cold as stone, no contact known You're feeling it too, as thoughts decay. The summer's gone, the colour's gone, The sun has gone away
It's turned to grey, just burned away, A moment too soon, we've turned to grey... Just like yesterday, It's turned to black and white.
Oh, you're thinking back, you're going back to places that you've been, Where days could last forever, but you can only dream, Oh, we're going back I'm looking back to places that we've seen, Moments that have been, places we can dream.
Crash and break, life's big mistake, You're feeling it too, just slipped away. The love has gone, The summer's gone away.
It's turned to grey, just burned away, A moment too soon, we've turned to grey... Just like yesterday, It's turned to black and white.
