i think it's "racist" and about my coment... sry ma bad maibe he was japanese btw starry if ur from Malaysia what what does "melc" from ur nick stand for ?? //melc stands for Melody Ch'ng, which is (if you havent already know) my name. BTW, I'm not trying to accuse you of anything. I'm getting a wee bit sensitive on the racial issues, something about living in a multi-racial country, I guess, you sort-of try to avoid potholes. //btw, sorry for getting off-topic...

I cannot imagine a better way to go. Killed by the sun and self-sacrifice for mankind after a nice long spaceship mission...

I learned the sun is going to be dieing by 2057
The sun is actually going to give off less heat while dieing, instead of more
A package that fits in a spacecraft can recharge the sun, despite the sun "burning" millions of tons of matter (the most energy rich fuel there is) per second
Instead of covering the entire ship in reflective panels, it's better to build one large shield at the front and leave the rest unprotected
You can float in space without being pressurized
You can stand a few feet from the sun's surface, facing towards the sun, and not be affected by the sun's gravity or heat
The AI of the future won't tell you that your oxygen supplies are burning or that another crew member is on board or that the new course codes put the ship at risk

In Sunshine the sun dies because of "Q-Balls" (theroretical particles) which drifted into the sun and reduce the temperature of the star. Icarus transport a dark matter payload to the sun to reignite it. This is very theoretical and physical doubtable of course but you should know that the sun won't die in 2057 because it has not enough hydrogen anymore. In the movie the Q-Balls cause it. If the Q-Balls were proofed it could be a realistic scenario.
That should answer most of your questions I think.
You can. The pressure difference between space and our atmosphere is one bar. Every diver has to resist a higher difference! If you breathe out, there is no problem about pressure.
A problem is that the boiling temperature of our body liquids is in vacuum higher than 37 °C (body temperature). So a person in space without a suit would get cooked after 30-60 seconds I assume.
The bomb falls free into the sun, so indoor there is zero-G but they have gravity generators (silly I know but acceptable in a ScFi-movie) in the ship why Capa can stand normal. The heat is a problem, but I think you could survive it for a few seconds.
Good question^^
