NEW QUESTION!!!!!
Who would have the most emotional baggage?

Harvey...and maybe Cass. For obvious reasons that make Kali angry and have already been discussed several times on these forums.
Here's the opposite question:
Who would have the LEAST emotional baggage?

The serious reply: Kaneda. Because Kaneda equals "calm."The not-so-serious reply: Movie Capa. Because Movie Capa equals "android." But only when he forgets to activate his emotion chip. Who seems most likely to have been an alternate choice for the mission? (That is, who seems most like a first runner-up who got to go when Mission Control's first pick broke a leg, got food poisoning, or managed NOT to outrun a train at a railway crossing?)

Ooh, good question. I'm gonna say...Trey. WAIT, DON'T HURT ME, I HAVE A REASON!!!
His criminal record. There were probably a lot of other computer techies out there with a sufficient skill level to complete the navigator's job on Icarus - I don't think a Chinese hacker with the ability to shut down a massive percentage of the world's computers would've been at the top of their list.
...In relation to the topic being inadvertently discussed in the RPG at the moment:
Of the eight Icarus crew members, which TWO would most likely stay in space, or if not in space, at least with the space program, upon the completion of the Icarus mission?

Least emotional baggage? I think that depends on how you view this term. For me, "emotional baggage" encompasses emotion that is bundled up inside and gradually builds up. In this case, I don't think Kaneda has the least out of the crew members. Although even Hiroyuki Sanada admits that his role in Sunshine was a stoic one, the audience gets to see a glimpse of Kaneda's "human" side in the scene where we are forced to focus on his eyes as he watches Pinbacker's report. This scene is particularly powerful for me and helps illustrate an important detail in Kaneda's backstory - that he knew Pinbacker before he set off on his doomed mission. The mixture of emotion in Kaneda's eyes gives the audience a sense of vulnerability and empathy. There is obvious concern regarding the fate of Icarus I. Even Corazon senses this despite Kaneda's "wall." In fact, all of them have considerable baggage when you think about it: Cassie (Yeah...), Capa (Bomb must work, mannnn!), Kaneda (I miss normal Pinbacker.), Trey (I f cked up!), Mace (The wind is too high!), Searle (I am not delusional... or am I?), Corazon (Without Mother Nature I have no purpose.) and Harvey (I miss my wife!). As you can guess, another thing to consider is when you count the emotional baggage. It doesn't seem like Trey had that much considering he never made a mistake (or one that dramatic as the one we witnessed on screen). We can safely assume, too, that Corazon never had an emotional breakdown, (at least towards her garden) considering that it was alive during the whole time before the mistakes.
All that said, the member with the least emotional baggage for me has to be either Trey or Corazon when it was pre-mistakes. For post-mistakes, my choice is Mace. Why Mace? Because he seemed to have "let go" of his emotional baggage when he was counselled by Searle.
/end nitpicking
Of the eight Icarus crew members, which TWO would most likely stay in space, or if not in space, at least with the space program, upon the completion of the Icarus mission? Kaneda and Searle. Like I mentioned in the RPG, Kaneda would probably want to continue working for the space program at least until he gets answers regarding the failure of Icarus I. He was close to Pinbacker according to his character backstory. In the film, we get to see Kaneda's concern for that mission and even for Pinbacker himself. As for Searle, I picked him because of his fascination with the Sun. I think it would be like him to want to explore space a little more in order to make sense of the experiment he conducted on Icarus II - and perhaps even form an ultimate conclusion about existentialism.
Next question...
Which character would make the best material for a new story should he/she had survived the mission?

As in physical gear? Um...Cassie? Harv? They're the sentimental types that would want to have things to remind them of home.
Characters OTHER THAN CAPA who are likely to have siblings?

I get a real "mob" vibe off of-- again!-- Cassie and Harvey. Harvey seems likely to have been the victim of extreme doting on the part of a flock of older sisters, whereas I can picture Cassie trying to stay sane riding herd over a pack of younger brothers.
Who's most likely to be found in the galley after midnight eating ice cream out of the carton?

Trey. Or Cassie. Or the both of them at the same time. It's the cheeky, might-get-caught, awfully cute sort of thing, but I can quite easily picture the two of them sharing an icecream tub at some God-forsaken hour of the night.
Which character - besides Corazon - might be likely to spend leisure time in the Oxygen Garden?

I can actually see Kaneda sitting amongst the plants, calming down after a particularly hard day, waiting for a certain biologist...It just seems like he'd enjoy the cool, green plantlife over the grey and silver color scheme.

Which character would sleep the most? ...I can see Capa here. When he's not working on the bomb, he's got nothing better to do than to sleep...at least, when he's not having dreams of falling into the sun, that is... Okay... this is pretty long, so please bear with me here... Everyone is hanging out and getting drunk in a karaoke bar. Which characters (under the influence of alcohol, of course) would go to the microphone and sing, and as an extra, what song would they choose? As for me personally, I can see the following happen ( don't ask me why...my mind is truly a bizarre and twisted place, after all... ), but don't go by me on this: Capa: "Desire" by U2 (if the booze makes him excitable and hyper), or "On an Island" by David Gilmour (if the booze makes him broody and reflective). Whichever song he chooses, he dedicates it to Cassie. Trey: "You're My Best Friend" by Queen. He dedicates this one to Mace, although the lines 'My feelings are true, and I really love you...' causes everyone to turn to Mace with eyebrows raised, to which he replies "What...?"Cassie: "I Touch Myself" by The Divinyls. With a sly smile, she offers this as a dedication, but doesn't say exactly who she's offering it to, leaving Mace and Capa to speculate where Cassie's loyalties truly lie. Pinbacker: "Burn" by The Cure. I don't know why, but it almost fits him... Searle: He starts to belt out the first few verses of "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred, but with all the booze he's imbibed, he passes out on stage and snores heavily, leaving Mace and Harvey to drag him off. Mace: "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones. Simply because it's one of his all time favorite songs. Harvey, Kaneda, and Corazon refuse to sing, each claiming that they have terrible singing voices. No amount of prodding will make them budge. ...Like I said, don't go by me on this...

Harvey, Kaneda, and Corazon, eh? This is too funny! ;D If we go by actor preferences alone, you got Corazon right. Michelle sung a song for one of her earlier films and she is embarrassed by the results (I personally think she has a beautiful voice!). Also, as a character, Corazon seems conservative in social events. Events of Mother Nature, however... I have no guess for Harvey so having him not participating in the singing is believable. He seems like the bashful type anyways. As for Kaneda, oh, Kaneda... did you know that karaoke is the #1 global sensation contributed by the Japanese culture? Karaoke is very popular, especially in Japan. I think Kaneda will have a blast on the singing stage! Actor-wise, Hiroyuki released several albums back in the day. He has a nice voice. ;D

Yeah-- I was totally thinking that Kaneda would be the crooner of the group. Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, old show tunes. And I can hear Corazon-- with the proper amount of alcoholic facilitation, of course!-- tackling Gershwin or Cole Porter or their cronies. "I Don't Stand a Ghost of a Chance," "Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry," "Deep Purple": they'd all sound great with that smoky voice....

One more-- and a double post, to boot! WHOOT! The one that leads to... ... the world's worst morning-after "oh-my-God-I- didn't" hangover for the performers... ... and... ... extended therapy sessions for the rest of the crew: ... Corazon (singing one octave lower than the soundtrack recording) and Kaneda (supplementing his vocal performance with appropriate [*ahem*] choreography) tackle... "DANCING," from Xanadu. Oh, yeah. Oh, no, too. (File available on request. I dare ya. ) ***** Alright, already. Enough of the musical chit-chat. Let's get this baby back on track with a serious philosophical question. Or, barring that, a question like this one: Who is most likely to get stuck doing laundry on the ship? Moreover, who's most likely to ENJOY getting stuck with laundry detail?

//Not related, but Kali, could you send me "Sympathy For The Devil" if you have it? Also, how do you know it's one of Mace's fave songs?
Most likely to get stuck with laundry detail? Mace, Harvey or Capa. Strangely enough, I can see Capa as taking a lot of pride in making sure everyone's stuff is perfectly clean and folded neatly. Maybe it's the android factor...
