Just got a link to this interview with Brian on Sci-Fi Online... Apparently, they watched a screener DVD and thought his commentary was the best DVD commentary they'd ever heard!
And, yes, he really *does* look like Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.

That was such a great interview! I love how he talks about "the emotional impact that science can have on you." That is definitely one of the key things I got out of Sunshine.
"These guys that get really pedantic are really, I think, missing the point about what science is all about. It's about precision, when you're doing it. So when you're doing research it's all about precision and attention to detail and that's the difficult bit, and that's what you learn how to do. But deciding what research field you want to do, and having really good ideas about what to go and measure, and what to try and find out, that's a creative process. I think a lot of the pedants kinda miss that."
I've always loved science, but the overemphasis on precision and measuring in professional science has always turned me off and made me forget "the real reason you want to be a scientist." Thanks Sunshine and Brian Cox for reminding me! This makes me even more impatient to hear his DVD commentary.

How great Brian Cox is so cool
It's a nice interview because of the interesting physics stuff. It's very excitingly to wait for the LHC get start and see if they discover a proof for this q-Balls from Sunshine....

He sure does look like the Willy Wonka pic in the interview! And a physicist playing in a band, that's really interesting!
